Landscape Installation Foreman
SIGNING BONUS
This position is located in Bozeman, MT. This is NOT a remote position.
Position: The Landscape Installation Foreman is an experienced landscaper who implements design and installation plans for commercial and residential properties. The Foreman is responsible for training and supervising technician crews, while also performing a variety of landscaping duties. This position regularly communicates with other lead technicians, crew members, clients, homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, and property managers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscape, construction, and/or related fields
A valid Driver’s License that is not currently suspended or revoked and is insurable by Highridge Landscapes
Prior supervisory experience, preferably in a service-oriented environment that involved outdoor work
Strong oral and written communication and training skills; ability to provide direction to and motivate team members
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
An understanding of installation requirements related to landscape, hardscape, low voltage lighting, water features, and irrigation systems
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Safety first mindset and good safety record
Problem solving skills and an eye for detail related to landscaping and hardscaping
Proficient with the use of a truck trailer combination, general construction tools, skid steer loaders, excavators, and wheel loaders
Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently
Preferred:
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Required Licenses and Certifications: Current or ability to get a Montana Class A Commercial Driver’s License that is not currently suspended or revoked with a tanker endorsement (driving record must meet the insurance carrier’s policy requirements and Highridge Landscapes Inc. driving standards).
Position Duties and Functions
General: Be aware of and abide by company policies, processes, and procedures, including standard operating procedures (SOP’s), safety protocols, and Highridge core values. Engage in all forms of Highridge social media. Read blueprints and landscape documents, review plans with the landscape designer, and implement and construct plans according to job site specifications. Ensure that all jobs are completed on time without exceeding the budgeted job production hours. Routinely interact with clients. Perform thorough assessments of job quality for all landscaping jobs to ensure that Highridge quality standards and required procedures are/were met or exceeded.
Team Leadership: At all times set the tone for team leadership consistent with Highridge core values, mission, and vision. Display a strong and positive work ethic for technicians, a safety and efficient mindset, and coherent communication skills.
Assist in providing direction to train and monitor the work of assigned crew. Ensure all daily tasks are completed on schedule and according to quality standards.
Irrigation: drip irrigation, sprinkler head installation, pipe unrolling and setting, valve box installation, sprinkler valve wiring, backflow installation, and understand how to design and professionally install a new sprinkler system (e.g., flagging sprinkler heads for proper distances and choosing the proper heads to use at each location)
Planting: edging installation, installation of all plant materials including tree staking, weed mat installation, mulch installation, sod and seed prep, sod installation, and hydroseeding/drill seeding.
Hardscape: retaining wall construction, stone staircase installation, paver and flagstone patio installation, accent boulder installation.
Equipment and truck operation: Drive company (automatic and manual transmission) trucks daily to job sites to transport crews and equipment, grade work, drainage, elevations, and reveals, general construction tools, use of a truck trailer combination, use of a pipe puller, use of a skid loader, and use of a mini excavator.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Promote safety in every aspect of the job by upholding PPE policies.
Working Conditions: Frequent contact with lead technicians, technicians I-III, and clients. Most of the work (80-90%) is performed outdoors with constant exposure to environmental and weather elements including, but not limited to, heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, grasses, dirt, bugs, plants, trees, shrubs, flowers, dust, and pollen. Work is performed close to machinery and loud noises. Frequent exposure to fertilizers, fumes, and lawn care chemicals. Work involves daily travel to and from job sites and operating a motor vehicle (with or without a trailer) on public roadways.
